Do you guys remember me talking about my brother and his new car? I was on the phone with him a little bit ago, and he couldn’t stop talking about the Chrysler 300 that Julia’s dad bought from their neighborhood Chrysler Scottsdale dealership.
He has turned into a big fan of the Chapman dealerships in Arizona. Mark just went on and on and on about how great their service is and what a super duper car buying experience he had and also Julia’s dad had.
He also tried to convince me that when I think about buying a car, I should go to Arizona and buy from the same dealership as they now know him well and can offer good discounts. Mark gets excited about things like that. He is a loyalist in the true sense. I think my brother should be their brand ambassador … lol!
Andrew and I have decided to go on a hiking trip before he heads to California for his camp. This past weekend, we did some research online for boots and other gears. Andrew decided that we could hunt for the hiking gear online instead of driving and going to several different stores, and spending the entire weekend in the car.
I tell you, that son of mine, I just love him to pieces. Such a great idea he had. I sat around in my sweats the whole weekend while Andrew did all the surfing and searching! We found a superb collection of Army boots to choose from. Army boots are great for a variety of activities like hiking, rock climbing and others. They provide great range of stability and protection to the foot and the ankle.
These are strong boots that can be worn through any weather. There are several different materials that can be used to make Army boots depending on the purpose. Some of the new technology also makes then lighter than the steel toe boots.
With amazing discounted rates here, you can also own a pair of these multi-functional utility boots. Be assured that you will not find better deals for boots anywhere else on the Internet.
This past weekend, Andrew, my son and I were lounging around the apartment contemplating and debating on what to eat for breakfast. The debate stretched to brunch and we decided to make a sausage and egg casserole that my mom used to make. No, it wasn’t a special occasion, it was just that we had the ingredients for this dish in the apartment, and neither one of us wanted to get over our laziness and drive to go grocery shopping.
While we were eating our brunch, Andrew and I started talking about how boring the summer break will be and how lazy Andrew will get if he had nothing to do. So we pulled out the iPad and started researching for summer camps or other activities that he could join. We came across a bunch of summer camps but I was really intrigued by a company called iDTech who seem to provide ‘tech’ camps which are fun. It seemed like a definite winner as they were offering a Video Game course. When I said to Andrew, “you could learn how to make your own video game” his eyes lit up like high watt halogen bulbs!
We got reeled into the research and then finally decided that for the summer we would enroll Andrew in ID Tech’s camp in California where my mom lives. He will get to spend some time with his gram-gram and I could also take some time off and go stay with them on and off though.
This plan seemed flawless, just like gram-gram’s sausage and egg casserole recipe 🙂
This past month, my brother Mark and his girlfriend Julia came to stay with us for two weeks. Coming from Arizona, it was a completely different scene for them here in Portland. Fun, fun and fun was all we did for the entire two weeks. They drove down from and had a blast on the road trip. We are a bunch of ‘car nerds’ and during their entire stay, they couldn’t stop talking about their car that they bought from their nearby Scottsdale Volkswagen dealer. It turns out that Mark happened to pick up this used VW for Julia as her birthday gift couple of months back and Julia treats the purple Beetle as if it is her baby … lol!
Any ways, let me get to the point of this post … One of the things we did with them was attending the 56th Annual Portland Roadster Show. It was held at the Portland Expo Center from March 16th to the 18th. It was an amazing experience to see skilled car artists’ absolutely marvelous renditions of car art. It was like you were witnessing the marriage of beauty and design.
And of course all that while the functional aspect stayed steady. Next up is the 8th annual PIR (Portland International Raceway) Automotive Swap Meet. I can’t wait to go check it out with my son. Both of us are excited about it. I will keep you posted!
I have been meaning to do this, by this, I mean create my own blog for a while now. I am proud of myself that I have finally started on it. I hope it helps the people that read it and if not help, then at least I hope that my blog and my blog posts will invoke some sort of thought and emotion in the readers.
